As a

Endocrinology Department in 1991. Today,

physician specializing in the anatomy of the endocrine system,
Dr. Chandiok has made it his mission to help patients live a
better life. Dr. Chandiok also oversees the Comprehensive Diabetes Center located in our
Main Clinic.
Dr. Donald R.
Childs, a pediatrician and
Endocrinology specialist is located in our
main clinic Pediatrics Department. Dr. Childs helps our childhood diabetes patients manage their
disorder and improve their quality of life.
Patients
may think an endocrinologist is a diabetic physician when, in
fact, an endocrinologist deals with the entire endocrine system.
The endocrine (endocrine glands or hormones) affects all parts
of the body, but a patient may only be affected with one
disorder. The systems of the body that may be affected are the
cardiovascular, GI, GU, neurology, musculoskeletal, respiratory
and many others.
Patients
wanting to see an endocrinologist must first obtain a referral
from their primary care physician. Once a referral has been
obtained your PCP will then contact you with an appointment date
and time. After you are established with the endocrinologist,
patients with diabetes may be referred to our Comprehensive
Diabetes Center for further education and monitoring by a
Certified Diabetic Nurse Educator.
