Improved Cardiac Radiology at Riverside Medical Diagnostic Center

With the opening of its main clinic facility on Brockton Avenue, the Riverside Medical Clinic Radiology department has enhanced Nuclear Medicine capabilities, important for cardiology procedures. Non-invasive imaging technologies are used to diagnose a variety of cardiovascular abnormalities.

The Riverside Medical Clinic Radiology department has the only 64-slice cardiac CT scanner in the Inland Empire. Its PACS (picture archiving and communication system) digital imaging system stores, displays and transmits all types of digital (computerized) medical images – CT, MRI, and ultrasound, as well as conventional x-rays. Timeliness of care and treatment is improved by making images available to all members of the care team instantly. Riverside physicians interpret medical images by use of computer manipulation.

Osteoporosis Screening at Riverside Medical Diagnostic Center

Riverside Medical Clinic is one of the few clinics in the area to have an on-site Dexa Bone Mineral Density scanner. The scanner is a low radiation method of measuring how much calcium is in the bones, and is used primarily in the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis. The diagnosis is painless and patients may usually complete it within ten minutes without removing their clothing.

Cancer Screening and Ultrasounds at Riverside Medical Radiation Department

Other services provided in the Riverside Medical Radiology department include a PET Scan for cancer detection, ultrasound, and mammography. Most patients relate ultrasounds to obstetric patients, but it also provides pelvic ultrasounds, abdominal ultrasounds, and liver ultrasounds.
