Riverside Medical Clinic Achieves Top Marks in Healthcare
Riverside Medical Clinic is committed to the care and safety of its patients and the recent abundance of awards it received is a direct reflection of that quality of service. Honors have come in from all sides of the healthcare industry, from accreditation organizations, health insurance providers, physicians and even patients.
Exceptional care begins with an exceptional medical staff, so when a company’s peers give them an award, it means they respect the level of talent. America’s Physician Group (APG) just presented RMC with the coveted ‘elite’ status in its 2020 Standards of Excellence program. This is the fourth consecutive year that RMC has received the award – the highest possible honor awarded by the nation’s leading professional association for physician organizations practicing coordinated care. To achieve elite status, RMC had to receive five-star ratings in six rigorous categories, from accountability and transparency to management practices, finances, I.T. and patient-centered care. Each year, APG set a higher standard than the year before to “raise the bar” on the quality and value of healthcare for patients. Only 80 physician organizations across the country qualified for the standard of excellence program.
Nonprofit Integrated Healthcare Association awarded RMC the 2019 Excellence in Healthcare Award for providing high-quality, affordable, patient-centered care. RMC was one of only 30 organizations in the state to meet the performance standards, which included total cost of care and high patient satisfaction ratings. This is RMC’s fourth straight year to receive the honor, a great distinction!
RMC has also been named a 2019 Best Performer from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The AAAHC, which performs assessments a minimum of every three years, is an international accrediting organization. To be accepted, RMC is required to conduct internal and external benchmarking to ensure it meets the criteria for quality care. RMC chose to voluntarily participate in a review of its surgery center and excelled in all categories of the study.
An especially meaningful award came in 2018 from one of the nation’s largest Medicare Advantage providers: SCAN Health Plan. It recognized RMC as a premier partner and top performer for senior care and service – one of the best in the industry for its ability to improve clinical outcomes and enhance members’ healthcare experience. RMC is proud to ensure that seniors in the community receive optimal care. Humana, another well-respected insurance provider known for its Medicare plans, has also named RMC as one of its top-performing medical groups for five years in a row, starting in 2015.
The state of California’s Office of the Patient Advocate issues a report card every year on the quality of care provided for over 16 million Californians who typically get their health insurance through their employer. For 2019 through 2020, RMC received a 4.5-star rating for the quality of care provided to Medicare members. It also received a 4-star rating for how patients rate their overall experience at RMC and the total cost for care. This report considered approximately 200 medical groups in its findings and provides important information to help your neighbors make the right choice for their care, so we thank you!
