September Riverside Events

It’s officially festival season and this month has plenty in store for Riverside residents. It’s finally starting to cool off which means there’s no excuse for staying indoors and not being active. Get up and get moving, our city has so much to offer. Here are some events happening in Riverside this month.


September 7, 2019

Master Gardner Class

UCCE Riverside County Master Gardeners will be here to answer all your gardening questions. Additionally they will be demonstrating and teaching about hydroponics, an alternative method of growing plants in a water based, nutrient rich solution for faster growing plants and greater production.


September 11, 2019

Never Forget 9-11: Day of Service Opening Ceremony

Patriotic Music, Presentation of the Colors, Speeches by Mayor Rusty Bailey, Council Member Jim Perry, Riverside Fire Department Chief Michael Moore, Riverside Police Department Chief Sergio Diaz. Display of Fire and Police Vehicles.

Chinese Moon Festival

Celebrate a traditional Chinese moon festival during September’s full moon. Bring your telescope, enjoy traditional refreshments, and take part in a special feature this year in honor of the 50th anniversary of the first moon walk.


September 14, 2019

Riverside Art & Music Festival

The event celebrates arts and music in Riverside and features local artists and arts group offering demonstrations, workshops, and sales. There will also be performances by cultural groups at the intersection of Ninth and Orange from 4 pm to 7 pm. After that, Inland Empire favorite bands will play on the stage until 10 pm. The art and cultural exhibits will be on Orange from University to just before Ninth, and on Ninth from Main to Orange. There will also be a Chalk Art component featuring local artists who will demonstrate chalk art to young aspiring artists.


September 20-22, 2019

Carnival Musical

The City of Riverside Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department is hosting the first annual Carnaval Músical in celebration of Hispanic culture Friday, September 20 through Sunday, September 22 at Fairmount Park – 2601 Fairmount Blvd. This 3-day event includes an eclectic variety of Hispanic themed entertainment including live music, food vendors, carnival rides, community performers, a beer & wine garden and more!

Cost: $12 daily pre-sale | $25 at gate | $30 all access pass | Kids 12 and under are FREE
