Riverside Medical Clinic is proud to offer several options for vision correction through surgery, also called refractive or laser eye surgery. Most procedures reshape your cornea. Others replace your eye’s natural lens.
Laser-Assisted In-Situ Keratomielusis, or LASIK, is a vision correcting procedure that corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. The doctor will make a flap in the outer layer of the cornea to get to the tissue underneath, and then reshape the tissue underneath your cornea so it can focus light properly. LASIK allows the doctor to correct your specific eye imperfections using the latest, FDA-approved, bladeless technology. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia in the office and usually lasts 20 minutes. Patients typically report no discomfort and most return to normal activities the next day.
Are you a candidate for a custom LASIK procedure? The first step towards laser vision correction is a FREE assessment to determine if it’s right for you. Generally, if you are 22 years of age or older, wear glasses or contacts to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism, and fit within the parameters of the laser, you are a candidate.
Please allow for up to two hours. This will provide enough time for dilation of your eyes and any other tests that our doctor may order. Bring in your eyeglasses and contact lenses as well as a list of all of your medications, including any oral medications and prescription eye drops, too. If you wear contacts, the doctor will ask you not to wear them for up to four weeks prior to your LASIK procedure. This will give your cornea time to adjust and it allows for more accurate measurements.
Your vision is of the utmost importance to us. Our highly trained Riverside Medical Clinic doctor has performed thousands of vision correction procedures on physicians, nurses, athletes and your neighbors, helping them enjoy life without the hassle of glasses and contact lenses.
We think you’ll find our pricing is very competitive, especially for the level of surgical experience and skill you will receive. We also offer a payment plan through Care Credit.
